Brrr

Got down to 0.2 C in Vinnie - the bok choi was frozen when I went to pick it for the chooks. Have had a nice warm shower at Grafton pool. All my tomatoes died, new leaves on avocado and arrowroot leaves all browned. The photo is the neighbours place.

Solar oven

Made in India with a very amusing manual - not just the Indian english but a ragbag of metaphysical benefits (solar cooked food cures diabetes, depression, parkinson etc).

Sawtell

Here we are in Sawtell, after a nice cup of coffee and walk on the beach.

Slow times

The garden is very neglected - the possum damage made me stop planting and now the frost. The bok choi is the only thing doing well (although going to flower). The chickens do appreciate some greens although they don't seem to have figured out eating grass. Every evening there is a lot of noise - they all want to sleep in the layer box since they can't seem to work out roosting, but it doesn't fit four.

Frost

Down to 2 degree in the van overnight and there was frost in the garden - don't think it was the first since some of the volunteer pumpkin leaves were already blackened. I'm wearing several layers and have good down sleeping bag but have had to add gloves and might even have to find a balaclava to keep nose warm! The possum floppy top fence seems to be working, though I'm still feeding apples. Twice now I have seen two possums - they obviously haven't read they are suppose to territorial, or there is a prolonged take over bid.

I'm still walking three times a week with two neighbours, Chris and Lisa. Next Tuesday at SES starting the map reading course (which should be easy as already done in Army Reserve).
