Cut finger

I managed to cut the side of my left ring finger while using the scythe - felt something move under my feet and looked down thinking it was a snake and must have reflexively grabbed the blade, like an electric shock and then I look up and see blood. Went to Grafton and got 4 stitches, as the tip was a bit numb. I told Cathy I was getting electric shocks from it and she figured out a stitch was through a cut nerve so she took it out for me.

No dig bed

The Rosella seems to have survived me falling on it and breaking half its branches partly off when I was putting in a stake because the wind blew it over. Its started flowering now - should soon see the "fruit" you can make cordial or jam with though might not have enough at once (only 2 flowers open at a time) to make much.

The corn male pollen is attracting lots of bees but there are only 6 cobs on 14 stalks and they look tiny so obviously not enough compost (thin layer) to really get them growing.

Harvest and house options

First capsicum and cucumber, lots of tomatoes although the leaves are dying off now.

I've decided to go with a transportable house - heard horror stories of trying to get tradesmen out of town. Its down to two:
1. Wangla http://www.westrade.com.au/cabins_transportables/Pages/cabinrange.html tab 9
2. Taroom http://www.hollingconstructions.com.au/residential/range.php?id=16
I'll make changes to either to make it more solar passive. The Taroom says 8 weeks build, and the Wangla 12-16 weeks and that's after I get council approval.

Water chestnut

I guess these are water chestnut flowers. It seems to be growing well and spreading out, hopefully at the end of winter there will be lots to harvest.

New car

The car is very neat although remembering how to drive a manual after 5 years takes concentration.

Solar system

I bought a 125W panel, regulator, battery and inverter. I'm hoping to run a car fridge and my computer off it although at the moment its too cloudy to run the fridge all day. March is the wettest month apparently.

Need more sun

Sunflower with three tiny native bees. I have put together a small solar system with a homemade manual tracker to run a car fridge and my computer. I'm going to get my new car tomorrow. It has been raining heaps, the place is waterlogged, I don't dare drive Vinnie the van on it when wet after getting bogged once.
